(Lukman) 31 : 32
وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُمْ مَوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ
When the waves like mountains engulf them, they call Lord Allah submitting all to Him; thus when We save them to land, some of them are moderate, and none will repudiate Our verses except every treacherous, ungrateful.
“Some of them are moderate” means among those who are saved, there are some who exist in the consciousness that Lord Allah saved them to the land and so they should be grateful to Him. Adhikr is the Criterion to distinguish the only path of Lord Allah and the different ways of Satan in every moment of life. But by hiding and rejecting Adhikr, the Fujjar are following Satan’s ways. These wrongdoers repudiate with verses of Lord Allah to justify their wrong way of life. See explanation 7: 37, 50-51; 10: 22-23, and 35: 32.
